Outdoor living inspiration

Ok, to be clear, it is snowing while I write this post. However, last Saturday night, in true Canadian style we had drinks out back with our neighbours. As soon as it’s above zero, they are up for outdoor happy hour. We bundled up, had blankets and enjoyed several hours catching up and enjoying the fresh air. For six months of the year, we get to expand our living space in to the great outdoors.

March Break in Toronto

If you are one of the lucky ones, you are away for March Break and won’t be reading this post or thinking about what to do this week. However, if you’re like us, trying to balance work and kids home from school we thought you could use some inspiration. Toronto has a lot of traditional March Break activities (ROM, AGO, Toronto Zoo, Casa Loma etc.) but what about those of us who don’t want to spend a small fortune or who have already done a few rounds of the traditional Toronto attractions?

We call her the ‘can’.

Yep, we had a shipping container dropped in our back yard almost three years ago and have loved every single second of having it there. We are a family of 5 and even though our semi-detached home is on the larger side, we still lacked a good home office space. (And with three kids there was really nowhere quiet to work EVER!) Since we live in The Junction a shipping container is a nice nod to the areas history and I feel like she fits right in.

Spotlight : Village Players Theatre

There is a reason the Village Players in Bloor West is celebrating its 45th year. Well, a few reasons. Top of that list, is all of the amazing volunteers who have kept the lights on, the sets designed, the costumes made, the stage managed and the arts scene alive in our community. One of those volunteers is a wonderful client of ours who is embracing her new neighbourhood and giving back at the same time.
