It feels like summer today & summer in The Junction makes me happy. We could use a few awesome roof top patios to increase my happiness but it's all good. Did you see the article on Blog TO about spending a day in The Junction? What do you think? Did they nail it? Or miss out on any of your favourite spots?
The Junction is no longer just a weird historic rail yard area west of Dundas and Keele where all the streets seem to go wonky, a neighbourhood only locals and residing families really understood. Cool bars and microbreweries are starting to mix in with the organic cafes, farmers’ market and street fests, and the results are exciting.
The TTC Junction Area Study has been completed and there are some new proposals to bus services along Dundas West, St. Clair and Parkside. Have a look and provide your feedback to the TTC. The annual Junction Summer Solstice festival takes place on June 23rd so save the date. I did prefer when the street was closed down but they are trying to work in the use of the side streets to still give that market vibe. I will really miss the train platform and lot when it goes the way of a condo.I really laughed at a few of these articles about growing up in the west end. Will be interesting to see what my kids say in 10 years about growing up in The Junction!Well, short and sweet today since I'm off to a very special wedding at George on Queen St tonight. Can't wait!Have a great weekend. xo
